Success Stories

Success stories & gratitude

A few of our many success stories.

Every day countless animals are placed into shelters or are euthanized because their owners can no longer afford to care for them. Part of our mission is to help provide funding where hardship is present so animals can stay in their loving furever homes. Thanks to fundraising and generous donations, these animals will reach tomorrow.

Other funding over the years has included emergency hay for horses, surgeries for Aurora, Porkchop, Sophia Rose, Allistar, Kaia, Chase, Penelope, Shiloh, Liv, Midas, Tonka, Max, Roxie and Samson, and support for rescue partners across the country. We love hearing from their families.

Medical care

Dewey

"Dewey is a 4 week old kitten that was found inside a wall in Belleville, NJ. Within hours of a woman hearing his cries, we had the fire department in there to break down the wall and save Dewey's life. He was in very bad shape, but with hospitalization and a lot of TLC, he is doing amazing! Thank you for the good work that you do. I am humbled by your support."

Cancer treatment

Nike

"I want to send a sincere thanks to the Onyx and Breezy foundation for their help with Nike's cancer treatment. It was a very dark time in our lives with having to deal with a devastating diagnosis and also the staggering cost of the treatment. I was at a loss because I so wanted to have my boy treated but I didn't have the means. I am beyond grateful for the financial support. Thanks again for giving Nike the means to receive the much needed care and treatment at a time when we really needed it."

Janel

Heart surgery

Moxie

"She was in heart failure and needed a very expensive surgery to fix her PDA or she would die. After all Moxie has given to my family, I couldn't let that happen. Thank you Onyx and Breezy for your generosity. I am happy to tell you that Moxie had her surgery and is doing very well. She is once again the happy little dog I have known for so long."

Heart disease

Lucky

"Thank you very much for asking about Lucky and for paying for his echocardiogram. I am so grateful that he had it because the doctor did recommend increasing his medication. March 23 marked the 10 year anniversary of adopting Lucky. I can't thank your foundation enough for your help."

Leah Noel

Lymphoma

Tucker

"When he was diagnosed with lymphoma in early August we were devastated, both by the diagnosis itself and by the realization that we had no idea how we could afford to pay for the treatment he would need to fight it. With your help, we are starting to feel like we have a fighting chance. Tucker is in remission at this point, and is acting very much like the joyful, playful, loving boy we know him to be. We are forever grateful."

Tumor surgery

Mr. Magoo

"Although he never had a sick day in his life, it was recently discovered that Mr. Magoo had a tumor in his mouth that needed to be removed and biopsied. The Onyx & Breezy Foundation provided funds that made it possible for that surgery. Now Mr Magoo is happy to be back home and hopes to have many more happy years with his family."

Sonya Malkove

Cataract surgery

Honey

"I would like to thank you for your contribution to Honey's cataract surgery. Honey is still recovering but I can already tell that her vision has greatly improved. She has stopped bumping into things and tripping over curbs, and she seems to be much more active. We couldn't have afforded it without you!"

Jacob Britton

Dental surgery

Harley

"My dog Harley had a very painful abscessed tooth. Her veterinarian said that it would have to be extracted, an unexpected medical bill. The wonderful people at The Onyx and Breezy Foundation agreed to pay the bill. Harley feels much better now and we owe it all to them."

Melissa

Bladder stone surgery

Cutie

"I just wanted to thank you all again for your generous donation towards the bladder stone removal surgery for my precious little dog, Cutie. The stone was so large that the surgery saved her life. God bless The Onyx & Breezy Foundation for their lifesaving help."

Lisa & Cutie

Tumor surgery

Tasia

"Thanks to you and your organization, Tasia was able to have the surgery on the surgeon's first available surgical appointment, only one week after finding the tumor. Without your help, it would have been many months before I would have been able to afford this life-saving surgery. Tasia is recovering very well and right now is lying in the sun on her windowsill bed."

Debbie
